I've always been a big fan of horror movies. Since I was little, those classics that made me jump off the couch have always caught my attention.
Today, with technology at our fingertips, I can watch these films directly on my cell phone, for free and wherever I am.
But before I tell you how, I'm going to share a little bit of the fascinating history behind horror cinema.
After all, where did these films that scare us so much come from?
The origin of horror films
Believe it or not, the horror movie has existed practically since the beginning of cinema. The first feature film of the genre, called The Manor of the Devil, was released in 1896 by Georges Méliès.
It was a short film lasting just three minutes, but it managed to be a pioneer in bringing scary creatures and innovative visual effects for the time.
Since then, the genre has only grown, evolving over the years and taking on different forms and subgenres.
Over time, the classics we all know came, such as Nosferatu (1922), the silent film that brought the fear of vampirism to life, and Frankenstein (1931), which popularized the idea of monsters created by science.
Each decade brought something new to horror cinema, from zombie films to slashers, like Halloween It is Friday the 13th. And the most amazing thing? Today I can watch all these movies on my cell phone, anytime!
